After a traumatic incident during his residency, young medical student James Heyman (Namir Smallwood) moves to a rural hospital to start over. Noticing that James is having trouble connecting with his patients, Dr. Harrison (veteran stage and film actor Michael Potts) suggests he take a class focused on patient relationships and fostering deeper connections with his patients. The demons of James’ past begin to catch up with him when he is confronted by the case of a young asthmatic patient (Sidney Flanigan, NEVER SOMETIMES ALWAYS) with mysterious symptoms. Her grip on reality begins to slip as her disturbing nightmares, anxiety-fueled speculations, and physical injuries collide with the harsh realities of the medical world. Director Alex Thompson brings together a strong cast of veteran actors in this humanistic and unconventional genre-defying follow-up to SAINT FRANCES (and GHOSTLIGHT’s predecessor).
